Presenting the demo

We didn't get the demo done. Like I said in another post, we had problems with flash and couldn't put it together. So our demo is just a bunch of slides with pictures on them and other info. That is pretty much it.

Final day

Well, being a senior, this is my last in this class. Tomorrow I have duoble periods and this isn't a class I have then, and Thursday and Friday are senior finals. I did have a lot of fun in this class, it taught how to better use photoshop and flash. It was a pretty good class...for as far as I got.

That is the problem with the class, too little time for too much stuff. In a 45 min class it takes a min or 2 to log in, then a few minutes to log on wiki and post the learning log, and then start up flash and photoshop and open up the pictures from our schools slow server. By the time that is all done we have about 25 min left. And everyone knows it is close to impossible to keep teenagers on task with partner work and not talk. Plus with the blog entry days that takes our time down to like 15 min of work. We also have to have time to close save our work and get ready for the class to be over, so now it's about 10 min of work.

If it wasn't so focused on doing the tiny things to document our every little movement, we might actually get done with what we are documenting.

Game ideas

Well first thing I would do is actually make the game. With all the snow days we had and with seniors getting out 2 weeks earlier than everyone else, there is no way we can even begin the game. So that would be the first thing I would change. The second would be teaching a little bit more about the disease. Since we aren;t going to be makingit, we haven't really thought how we would come out and say it was the disease and not actually a zombie game.

Making the demo

We didn't really make the greatest demo, but it'll do. We made the scenes that we were going to put in the game to show what was going to be in it. Cody had made a slide of what they would see when hey clicked start, but someone got onto his computer and deleted it. We showed what the symbols on the screen mean, and we also showed what the audience would be learning about and who the targeted audience were.

If I could change anything about the demo, I would change pretty much everything. We were having a problems with flash and couldn't bring our scenes over from photoshop. So they are all just seperate pictures, and not really together in any way. Plus the fact that we know we aren't going to be able to even get started on the actual game. Senioritis is also a very crippling disease.

Paper Prototype

Our paper prototype hasn't really made me think more about the game, we already knew what we were going to do.  The only thing it really helped us with was what our scenes are going to look like, but they are goinglook completely different on the computer than they are on paper.  It did help us make our title screen thoguh.

We don't really have to modify anything since we started our prototype.  The only thing in the future that might have to change is how the surgery works. It might be a little too complicated for us to do at our level.  But if we have to change a few things that's not a big deal.

Impending Storm

There is a really bir/ really small storm coming. You really can't tell what is coming. Everyone has heard a different forecast, some say we are only getting an inch or 2, some are saying 6-8 inches. It's pretty annoying hearing all these different things. I really don't care how much we get as long we don't have school tomorrow and thursday. Tomorrow isn't so bad, because we get to sleep in an hour and only have 3 classes anyway. Thursday is a nightmare though. It's when I have all my horrible classes (except this one) for double periods. Math is especially unbearable. Senioritis is really starting to kick in as well.

Response blog

"Do you think your game is to advanced or is it on the right track," I think our game may be a little bit too advanced for 2 new users. I think it is a simple concept, but when put into action it might be a bit too complicated. The normal walk around levels will probably be pretty easy to do, but the surgery levels, where the learning part it, will probably be pretty hard to make. We will try to do it the best we can, but I'm sure we won't be winning any award for it any time soon.
